Business year 2009: Premium income up three percent

Cologne, 15.12.2009: With gross premiums written in 2009 up 3.0 percent from the previous year to 4,073bn Euro (without reserve for premium refunds, previous year 3,956bn Euro), the Gothaer Group is likely to have grown at the market rate. Consolidated profit for the year, probably 61m Euro, will be at the 2008 level (62m Euro). In autumn 2009, the leading rating agencies Fitch Ratings (Fitch), Standard & Poor's (S&P) and ASSEKURATA confirmed the good assessments for the Gothaer Group's subsidiaries.

Gross premiums written by Gothaer Allgemeine Versicherung AG, likely to total 1,402bn Euro, will be at the 2008 level. The Company has again been able to approach a bit closer its goal of becoming market leader in the insurance of renewable energies: Premiums in that business line rose seven percent.
